When I was a small boy, my Aunt gave birth to her 4th child, a boy she named Stephen. He was very small and had been born with a heart defect. He past away shortly after his first birthday. I was very young, but what I still remember was my Aunts overwhelming sadness. I had always known her to be a very happy and positive person, full of joy and life. But for some time after that, the joy had left her. In time, she was able to get back to being her old self again, to some degree. She smiles, but not as big, she laughs, but not as loud, she lives, but not as vibrant. She lost something on that day that, I suppose, cannot be replaced. Knowing that Stephen and Sawyer are both in Heaven with God is a comforting thought. And having the hope that we will see them again one day helps to stem the despair. But nothing replaces their presence. Their light is gone for now, making the world a slightly dimmer place to live. By establishing a memorial to Sawyer and keeping his memory alive, you are doing a great thing. They may not be with us physically, but they live on in the Spirit. And since we who know the Lord, also walk in the Spirit. They are and will always be with us. My family chose to not speak Stephens name in the presence of my Aunt, and eventually this led to his name never being spoken at all. I always thought this was a tragedy. In many ways, it is as though he never lived. Losing a child is the saddest thing anyone can imagine, but for me, sadder still, is not remembering them.
                                          ALL MY BEST,
Sawyer

Mommy,
Please don't be so sad,
I miss you so much too.
It's beautiful here where I am,
but I worry a lot about you.

I sleep with the angels
watching over me.
There's only love up here.
I'm never lonely or afraid
'cause God's so very near.

I walk with Jesus every day.
He's very kind and sweet.
Don't worry mommy he holds my hand
when we cross the golden street.

I never cry or hurt myself.
I see our family every day.
I play,laugh,and sing a lot.

I hear you when you pray, Mommy.
Please don't be mad at God you see...
He loves me, too.

Even though your not with me
I'm really still with you.......

Poppie

Hey little man,

The love and joy that you brought to everyone in your family will never be forgotten. I will never forget the day you were born.  Although I was not able to be there, I was kept informed by your Sweet Nana.  It was not until 4 months later that I finally got to see you for the 1st time.. What a blessing it was to get to hold you after all that time.  I will never forget the times that just you and I spent together. So until I see you again,,, pormise that you will always hold Jesus' hand when you cross those Golden Streets.

I love and miss you,,,,, always and forever!!

Great-Great Aunt

Hello Sawyer,

This is your Great Paw-Pa Willie's younger sister, Ideline Klumpp, better known by

the name Ida. We never met while you were here on earth, so I never really knew you, just of you.

When you went home to be with God our Father and with our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, the spirit of your family, who have gone before you, were there to greet you. Especially Grace & Willie Klumpp, your Great Grandparents. I know you are in very good hands. Your great-grandma Grace was one fine lady. Both she and great grand-pa Willie were not here to greet you when you arrived here on earth, but they were there to greet you when you left, as well as a great crowd of witnesses.

Faith tells me they were looking down on you the little time you were on earth, just as they are doing today for the other members of their family. I know both your great grandma Grace & great grand-pa Willie love you. You are with them now, and as well as other family members, so you are not alone.

God saw fit to take you at such an early age. We do not understand His ways, but our faith lies in Him, as He has His reasons. The mysteries of God we will never comprehend. You are greatly missed by your mommy & daddy as well as other close family and will never be forgotten.

In time we will learn to let you go completely in order for you to be free in Heaven.

You will always be a memory to all who knew of you on earth.

Love from your Great Great Aunt Ida.
